Residences

Program:

The Monira Foundation’s Media Residency, in partnership the the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, is a studio and equipment award offered to Chicago based recent grads of SAIC who explore moving image, time-based media, and emergent technologies. This residency offers studio space to 4-6 artists each year. Since 2018, the first year of this program, the residency has supported the next generation of new media artists and fostered innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship to recent graduates to build their practices outside of the comforts of institutional support. The Artists in Residence are surrounded by over 150 professional artist studios and situated within a thriving arts community in Chicago.
