Monira Foundation Virtual Stage Presents Pegasus: The Orchestra’s Fourth Season
FOREVER CHILDREN: THE BEAUTY AND HEARTBREAK OF BEING ALIVE – Piano Series
Pegasus presents, award-winning pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski in a special program available only to FULL SEASON subscription holders. Konstantin’s recital features an overarching narrative that weaves together Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece miniatures: Children’s Album and The Seasons and Polina Nazaykinskaya’s three miniatures composed during the March lockdown of 2020. Usually thought of as cycles in their own right the two Tchaikovsky opuses are merged in this performance to create a ‘coming of age’ story that spans generational change. In this show we encounter young siblings as babies looking out at the world. As expected, they learn of the world through their parents and their nanny, at first. Though, when the moment comes, we jump forward in time where children are now grown up, revisiting their childhood experiences through adult eyes. With Ms. Nazaykinskaya’s triptych we jump further in time where our protagonists are in the final chapter of their lives. Heartbreak and sorrow are inevitable but hope remains. The entire show is narrated by Konstantin guiding you through the journey of our characters while music illustrates the narrative.
Let the child within us always remain through all seasons of life.
