Directions
To visit us in Jersey City:
The PATH train runs along 6th Avenue with stations at 33rd Street, 23rd Street, 14th Street, 9th Street, and Christopher Street. A separate PATH train station is located at World Trade Center. From any Manhattan PATH station, take the Journal Square- or Newark-bound line to Journal Square. Exit the Journal Square PATH Station and walk north along John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Turn left onto Newark Avenue; Mana is located at 888 Newark Avenue on the right-hand side of the street.
Monira Foundation in Jersey City is an easy ten-minute walk from the Journal Square PATH station. If you are driving, there is a free public parking lot located in front of the building. Quick access from the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, as well as the New Jersey Turnpike, makes it a convenient trip from Manhattan.
To visit us In Chicago:
Monira Foundation has free public parking on their campus and bike racks. It is also accessible via public transportation. The two most common access are:
a. —- Take the Red Line train to the Cermak-Chinatown stop, then take the Cermak bus (21 bus) Westbound and get off at Throop St.
b. —- Take the Ashland bus (9 bus) to Cermak, then take the Cermak bus (21 bus) Eastbound to Throop St. It is an easy walk from Ashland to Throop, (maybe a quarter mile) if waiting for the Cermak bus become cumbersome.
Visitor Information & Accessibility
The Monira Foundation welcomes all and is happy to accommodate all visitors when they visit or participate in our exhibitions, residencies, and programs.
In Jersey City, the building we are located in, Mana Contemporary, has wheelchair ramps from the parking lot into the building. There are several elevators onsite and all hallways and doorways are ADA compliant. Ample signage is posted to make moving through the grounds as easy as possible. All restrooms are wheelchair accessible and located on all floors in the building. Guide animals are welcome and if assistance is needed to navigate the grounds we are happy to offer it.
For programming we are pleased to offer listening devices and sign language interpretation if requested. All requests should be made two weeks in advance of need (as best as possible). Large type programs are available on request for exhibitions and special programs.
