Discover Sam Circle

December 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

Join us in Discovering Artist and Writer Sam Circle reads their incredible poetry inside the Andy Warhol exhibition at Mana Contemporary as part of the Jersey City Reads Poems program at the Monira Foundation.

This dynamic poetry series, part of the Discovering Program at Monira Foundation, amplifies marginalized voices within Jersey City. In this special event, poets Sara Munjack, Sam Circle, Idris, and Shannon Pulusan present original works inspired by the iconic installations of artists Dan Flavin, Arnulf Rainer, Andy Warhol, and John Chamberlain. Through ekphrastic poetry, they explore the powerful intersections of art and language, creating a rich dialogue between visual and verbal expression.

About Sam:
Sam Circle is a writer and artist based in Jersey City. They recently graduated from New Jersey City University with an MFA in Integrated Media Arts Production. They publish the biweekly newsletter Last Week’s New Yorker Review, which is what it sounds like.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of the Department of State, and administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Thomas A. DeGise, Hudson County Executive & the Hudson County Board of County Commissioners.
