Poetry in the Galleries with Jersey City Reads Poems

On September 21, 2024 Monira Foundation and Jersey City Reads Poems presented Discovering: Poetry in the Galleries. Audience members had the opportunity to participate in a multi-sensory experience while touring the galleries at Mana Contemporary.

Jersey City Reads Poems is a poetry series amplifying marginalized voices in Jersey City. Sara Munjack, Sam Circle, Idris and Shannon Pulusan will present poetry works in dialogue with the long term settings of artists: Dan Flavin, Arnulf Rainer, Andy Warhol and John Chamberlain, exploring the connections between art and language through ekphrastic poetry.

A video documenting the four performances will be released in the upcoming months and will be available in the link below.
