The Monira Foundation’s Organizational Residency is a studio award for a New Jersey based small Arts Organization to program a 12 month residency in support of their artist network and community. This opportunity gives small organizations space to enhance their missions and support artists producing visual art in ways they may not be able to without outside support. Our aim is to connect to our community in Jersey City and to makers who are underrepresented.
The organizations we partner with expand our mission and open opportunities for a wider range of artists and their practices.
This program is currently by invitation only, but if you would like to learn more please email Anne Muntges email@example.com. We are working towards hosting an open nomination process in 2022.
Overview and Facilities:
This program offers a twelve-month studio residency to one organization who will choose four to six artists to participate throughout the year. Designed to support our community better, artists are given a 550 sq/ft studio with 24/7 access, a sink, and great natural light. This residency also includes the opportunity to participate in Foundation programming and work among a thriving community of professional artists. The 2021-22 residency takes place October 15, 2021 – October 14th, 2022 and welcomes Mashonda Tifrere, director and founder of ArtleadHER. Mashonda will be leading monthly programs focused on professional development through powerful conversations with Art Leaders from across the country.
The ArtLeadHER Foundation focuses on providing equitable and equal opportunities to women in visual arts.
We are pleased to welcome Mashonda Tifrere’s selected artists for the year:
