InterArts Poetry Lab – JCPOFEST Kids Presents The Red Balloon at Mana Contemporary Open Studio Day
This event is presented by The Jersey City Poetry Festival / InterArts Poetry Lab, in partnership with Monira Foundation, with support from The Theater and Poetry Project / The Poetry Center at PCCC.
Jersey City, NJ – MAY 17th – InterArts Poetry Lab is thrilled to announce a special screening of the classic short film The Red Balloon as part of JCPOFEST Kids during Mana Contemporary’s Open Studio Day on SUNDAY May 17th, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The Red Balloon, directed by Albert Lamorisse, is a nearly wordless, whimsical film poem celebrated as “pure cinema,” praised for its “breathtaking, elemental wonder,” and called “a singularly wondrous portrait of innocence.” Its lyrical imagery and delightful musical score make it accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages and abilities, transcending language barriers.
Screenings will run every 45 minutes (film runtime: 34 minutes), with the following schedule:
12:00 PM | 12:45 PM | 1:30 PM | 2:15 PM | 3:00 PM | 3:45 PM | 4:30 PM | 5:00 PM (Final Viewing)
This event is FREE and open to the general public – Registration at the below link is required.
All children will receive a red balloon and a JCPOFEST sticker after each showing, adding a touch of magic to this cinematic experience.
