Monira Foundation and Mana Contemporary proudly present OPEN BOOK (altered).
Join us for the exhibition opening on Oct 19, 12-5 pm
Location: 1st Floor, Mana Contemporary
Books have the power to spread ideas to vast audiences, enabling creators of all disciplines to share their visions and empower communities around the world. OPEN BOOK (altered) showcases artists from across the globe, highlighting their unique works and innovative ideas. This exhibition emphasizes artist bookmakers who explore traditional and non-traditional book forms to bring ideas to life. It also features artists whose works can be interpreted through the concept of an open book displayed across a range of media and formats.
In this new iteration OPEN BOOK (altered) focuses on highlighting artists who utilize a myriad of found books, discarded tickets, tags, currency, newspaper clippings and/or other mass-produced printed matter and transforming them into a non-traditional form, blurring the boundaries of what we consider printed matter, and incorporating thoughts, ideas, and dreams to break boundaries.
