Maria Veronica San Martin: Studio Visit

October 27, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

María Verónica San Martín (she/her) is a Chilean New York–based multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work explores the impacts of history, memory, and trauma through archives, artist books, installation, sculpture, and performance. Her practice uncovers and reactivates suppressed histories, particularly those connected to the Chilean dictatorship, transforming research and testimony into tactile, participatory experiences.

San Martín’s projects often take the form of performative archives and sculptural artist books that invite viewers to engage with acts of remembering and witnessing. By layering image, text, and gesture, she creates powerful spaces of reflection that bridge personal and collective memory.
