“When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus” (Turkish Proverb)
At the far end of the empire, past the pile of unread history books, broken promises, and torn-up health insurance cards, there’s this big beautiful big top. Big big BIG. You really should see it. You’d love it. It’s The Greatest Show on Earth! Go see it before it’s too late! See it before it’s gone! See it now before it disappears completely! You really can’t miss it.
Clown Show is a portrait of America as a… falling-apart clown show. Geoff Sobelle (FOOD, HOME, The Object Lesson) leads the charge of a small army of clowns with an original score played live on questionable instruments and often featuring the songs of Elvis Perkins. Happy Birthday America, you don’t look a day over … how old was Rome when she fell? Happy Birthday.
The performance runs approximately 90 minutes. We kindly ask that all guests arrive on time and remain for the full duration to support the performers and maintain the flow of the show.
Presented as a part of Monira Foundations’ programming for Fall For Freedom.
About Fall for Freedom
Fall for Freedom (November 21–22, 2025) is a nationwide call for creative resistance in the face of growing authoritarianism. Across the U.S., galleries, museums, and performance spaces are hosting exhibitions and programs that affirm the power of art as a form of truth-telling and collective care.
Art matters more than ever.
